Five thirty two

We’re shopping for a suit and have heard about a bargain!

Picture the scene, it’s five thirty two, the store appears to be closing, 6 other shoppers are inside, serving them, are three members of staff.

As we enter, we’re welcomed as though we are plague carrying lepers; “we’re here to buy a suit” I tell the salesman. He shouts to the manager, a grim shake of his head accompanied by down-tuned lips follows. “Sorry” the salesperson says, “we’re here to buy a suit”, I repeat, “we’re closing” his response.

If any of us needs reminding, we’re facing the toughest business conditions in a generation. If you own or have shares in the store, it’s a nationwide chain, I’m sorry but on the basis of our treatment your investment looks uncertain.

Customers have options, we duly exercised ours and went elsewhere.
